Disks

Disks for sale are available in various models and configurations such as one-way disk plow, offset disk harrow, and tandem disk harrow. They have concave, disk-shaped blades typically made of steel alloys. They are most commonly pulled behind a tractor and used to till soil, chopping through weeds and crop stalks and remnants to prepare the soil for planting new crops. Disks can also be various shapes like perfect circular disks, serrated disks, or scalloped disks.

The first disks created back in the late 1800s were just a single set that were pulled by livestock. In the early 1900s, the one-way disk plow was invented, and more sets of disks were added over time as well as self-cleaning capabilities. As tractors began to get faster and more powerful, disks also needed to adapt so that they were not damaged during use, so they started being developed with more tough and durable steel and in a more concave shape. Today, many modern features have been added to benefit production and efficiency such as compact disks, greater widths, more rugged designs, depth adjustment, hydraulic folding wings, and various shapes, sizes, and materials used for maximum utility and efficacy. At Equipment Anywhere, new and used disks for sale can be found from some of the leading manufacturers such as John Deere, Case IH, Sunflower, Krause, International, Landoll, Rome, LEMKEN, and others.
