Round Balers

Round balers are the most common type of hay baler used today. They produce bales between four and six feet in diameter and about five feet wide. These bales are then bound together with a type of twine or netting. Some newer models of round balers for sale feature a built-in bale wrapper. Bale wrappers do just as the name implies and wrap the bale of hay in plastic or other similar type of material in order to preserve the bale. There are also standalone bale wrappers, bale handlers, and bale unrollers available for sale as well. Bale unrollers, as the name suggests, assist with unrolling bales of hay to feed to livestock.

Allis-Chalmers invented the round baler in the 1940s, but Vermeer revolutionized them in the 1970s with the goal of creating a one-man hay baling system. Vermeer’s concept ultimately evolved into the first modern round baler, and Vermeer also built the first continuous round balers so that farmers no longer had to unload one bale before beginning the next. Manufacturers, in recent years, have been striving to create hay balers capable of making the most dense and round bales possible, even when the field conditions are tough. Equipment Anywhere, through its growing network of equipment dealers and individual sellers, can offer new and used round balers for sale, not only from Allis-Chalmers and Vermeer, but also from other leading manufacturers such as John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, CLAAS, Massey-Ferguson, Krone, McHale, Hesston, Kubota, and others.
