Plows

Plows have been in use by farmers for hundreds of years and are one of the most significant agricultural inventions ever. As with other agricultural tools, the first plows were dragged by humans and livestock, but as technologies progressed, more modern plows were able to be attached to and pulled by tractors thus improving efficiency and production rates. Both new and used plows for sale are utilized for primary tillage to cut through and turn over soil and bury weeds and crop residue, improve field drainage, and prepare the field for planting.

There are several different types of plows today. First, moldboard plows are mostly used in fields that have never been planted before and are utilized to cut through and turn over soil to prepare the field for planting. Second, ridge or ridging plows are equipped with two moldboards which are utilized to create a ridge in the soil for planting specific crops. Third, chisel plows are used to loosen or aerate the soil for deep tillage as they can be operated with limited soil disturbance. Fourth, mole plows are best utilized to assist with drainage in wet ground. At Equipment Anywhere, potential buyers are able to locate all types of plows for sale from some of the leading manufacturers in the agricultural industry including John Deere, Case IH, Massey-Ferguson, International, Allis-Chalmers, Kuhn, Ford, Kverneland, Lemken, and White, among others.
