Crushers, Their Types and Uses

In mining and construction industry a lot of projects require huge rocks, ore, and other types of materials to be broken down into smaller and more manageable pieces.  Crushers are the machines that most people use in order to carry out these tasks in a lot of different industries. These machines are multidimensional and their design is optimal for reducing large size materials or changing the form of waste materials so it can be recycled or disposed of more easily. They are used for a lot of purposes in many different types of industries.

Types of Crushers

As established crushers are quite an important equipment in various industries that require the processing of large materials into smaller, more manageable pieces. On the basis of their crushing abilities, these machines are classified into three different types.

  1. Primary Crushers
  2. Secondary Crushers
  3. Tertiary Crushers

Primary Crushing

Crushers are mostly used to break down larger rocks into smaller rocks, gravel, or other materials. This allows the material to be further processed or used for construction purposes. For these types of crushing jobs primary crushers are used.

Secondary Crushing

Once the primary crushing process has been completed, crushers can be used to further break down the materials into even smaller pieces.  If the material needs to be broken down into further smaller pieces secondary crashers are used to carry out the task.

Tertiary Crushing

Tertiary crushers can be used for a third and final stage of crushing, which is often required for finer and more precise particle sizing.

But while these may be the main tasks that these machines are used for, there are other jobs that crushers are used to performing including the following.

Recycling

These machines are also used to crush and recycle materials such as concrete, asphalt, and other construction waste, which can be reused in future construction projects.

Mining

It is mostly in the mining industry that you will see this machine being used. During mining operations crushers are used to break down ore deposits into smaller pieces for easier processing and extraction of valuable minerals. That is why out of all the other used industrial equipment available in the market, crushers are always in demand in the mining industry.

Aggregate production

Crushers can break down larger rocks into smaller particles for use in the production of concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials. So these machines also make aggregate production possible.
