South Korean heavy equipment manufacturer, Develon, has introduced its latest product in the bulldozer category – the DD130. The new dozer is the company’s second release in this category, following the launch of its first-ever dozer, DD100, just under a year ago. The mid-sized dozer is expected to go on sale in the third quarter of the year.
Enhanced Performance and Customer Satisfaction
The DD130 comes with improved performance, as revealed by the company’s engineering manager, Moo Young Park, during the unveiling at Con-Expo in March. According to Park, the new dozer has surpassed the company’s initial projections, based on positive feedback from customers who are satisfied with its performance.
Fine-Grading Solutions for Residential and Light Commercial Construction
Develon’s DD130 is a mid-sized dozer that provides “fine-grading solutions for residential and light commercial construction.” The dozer comes with many of the same features as the DD100, including a focus on operator visibility, a clean design with the radiator and hydraulic oil cooler in the back, and a narrow, sloping front that allows operators to see the blade clearly. The cab is entirely made of glass for improved visibility.
Enhanced Features
The DD130 comes with several enhancements, including an 8-inch color touchscreen display, rearview camera, front and rear LED lights, and four “premium wiper blades” as standard equipment. For component access, the FOPS, and ROPS cab tilts electronically, and even with the cab inclined, the dozer can be started. Other note able features are the adjustable seat and the electric controls that make blade shake possible with just the push of a button. Optional 2D grade control systems are available from the factory.
Improved Grading Control
Develon added oscillation to the tracks of the DD130 to improve grading control and lessen vibration on tough terrain. The dozer comes with a six-way variable angle pitch blade, approximately 12 feet broad, and customers can choose between a 4.6 cubic yard standard blade or a 5.5 cubic yard blade as an option.
Effortless Attachment with Ripper and Forestry Guarding Options
The DD130 comes with a four-section hydraulic valve for attachments such as a ripper or towing drawbar installed at the back of the dozer. Develon claims that their ripper “can effortlessly tear up hard, rugged materials before grading and can be employed for erosion control.” The optional forestry guarding, with a front sweep and roof guard for use in logging and forestry activities, is available for purchase alongside the dozer at ConExpo.
Easy Maintenance and Tracking
The DD130 comes with an integrated pre-cleaner with the air cleaner, designed for ease of service and maintenance to lengthen filter life. The intake systems have self-cleaning capabilities, allowing for the expulsion of various debris, including mud, snow, leaves, sawdust, and chaff. The undercarriage, which experiences the most wear, is also easy to access, making it easier to grease the track tension system by removing a side panel.
Develon Telematics is used for standard machine data and location tracking via an app or website. Dealers can view the details to inform clients of impending routine maintenance.
